FOR DAVID AND DILLON LATOUR, RACING AND FAMILY TIME ARE ONE AND THE SAME

It has often been said that racing is a family sport.  The Latour family takes this quite literally.  Susan Latour and her husband David are the Crew Chiefs for their 19-year-old son David, Jr., also known as “DJ”.  DJ’s younger brother Dillon is a former racer who now turns wrenches for his older brother. 

Currently entering his fifth season of Late Model racing, David is preparing for a run at the South Boston Speedway track championship, a feat not easy to accomplish, given the aggressive nature of the competition at one of NASCAR’s most historic and challenging short tracks.  In 2010, David raised the eyebrows of track insiders by finishing fifth in his first full season of competition at the Virginia speedplant.
